Stevenson PACT Elementary School created ImPACT, a program collaboratively written by teachers and parents, to address the social emotional learning on campus. From 2014-2019, Stevenson PACT integrated Project Cornerstone from the YMCA into the social emotional learning already happening on campus. In 2017, a team of parents and teachers started the process to investigate other programs and methodologies to replace Project Cornerstone in hopes that the program would be more connected to our school's values. In 2018, teaching staff designed 5 scaffolds that focused on our values: Resilience, Respect, Collaboration, Innovation, and Community. Each scaffold is rooted in the value, three big ideas, and driving questions that focus on each developmental grade level. These scaffolds were created to foster consistency and build upon learnings year after year as children at PACT progressed through each grade. Scaffolds are used equally as teachers combine academic scaffolds and SEL learning. ImPACT was designed to have seamless connection to teacher:classroom learning and parent enhanced connections. The ImPACT curriculum focuses on 1 or 2 driving questions within each value in a particular month.
